Dr. Aikaterini (Katerina) Boukouvala is a board-certified Family Medicine physician with postgraduate training in General Surgery and more than 25 years of healthcare experience. Before becoming a physician, she practiced for many years as both a registered nurse and a Family Nurse Practitioner, giving her a unique perspective and deep understanding of patient care across the continuum of medicine. She earned her medical degree from the University of Science, Arts and Technology School of Medicine and completed her Family Medicine residency in California. Dr. Boukouvala has extensive experience in primary care, hospital medicine, urgent care, emergency medicine, palliative care, wound care, obesity medicine, lifestyle medicine, and women’s health. She is passionate about helping patients achieve their health goals through preventive care, lifestyle modification, and evidence-based medical management. In addition to clinical practice, she has participated in clinical research, presented at national conferences, and volunteered on international surgical missions. In her spare time, she enjoys competing in Ironman triathlons, running, traveling, cooking Mediterranean cuisine, and spending time with family and friends.
